History

Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija is one of the leading confectionary and snacks companies in the Baltic States. The Company unites several legal entities that were operating separately before – SIA NP Foods, AS Laima, AS Staburadze and AS Latfood – at the same time retaining their brands, product portfolios and production processes. Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija represents the following inherited brands: Laima, Selga, Staburadze, Ādažu īstie Čipši and The original Taffel snacks. The company also develops and manages such brands as Old Town Bakery, Pedro, Laima Chocolate Museum. The brands are the foundation of the Orkla Confectionery & Snacks business in Latvia.

The beginnings of Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija date back to1 April 2009, when a  food management and development and food sales and logistics service company SIA NP Foods was established. The company provided administrative, including finance, IT and accounting, human resources, procurement, logistics, quality management, and sales, exports, marketing and brand management functions to AS Laima, AS Staburadze, SIA Staburadzes Konditoreja, AS Latfood. The NP Foods Group includes also SIA Saldumu Tirdzniecība and the logistics partner SIA NP Logistics.

After joining the Orkla Group in March 2015, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija has become a part of the leading consumer brand in the Nordic countries and Baltic States. The beginnings of the Group date back to a time 350 years ago.
